Busy Lauren Crooks Uses Crypto Aero to Support Her String of Show Jumpers

Show jumping legend Lauren Crooks is competing six horses around Florida this season, including in Sarasota, at the World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Ocala, and at the 2022 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington. She’s especially excited about Louisana van de Moortelshoeve, the Crooks Show Jumping-owned 2011 Belgian Warmblood mare by the sire Bamako de Muze. “Lulu” was purchased in Belgium and Crooks said she was “on form” in her 2021 performance, is incredibly smart, careful and fast, and has that extra scope to win. The duo started 2022 with a clear round in the $100k CSI2* Grand Prix to finish in the top 12 the end of January at Split Rock Sarasota. Crooks is also hopeful about a new Crooks Show Jumping-owned 2015 KWPN mare she’s ready to take into the show ring, Kavaliers Blue by Zirocco Blue VDL. Kavaliers Blue is one of the most talented young horses I’ve sat on,” Crooks said. “My goal is to develop her to the highest level so I will take my time with this special mare.”

In addition, she’s “got a great 1.45m/1.50m” mare that she looking to compete in some venues Crooks said are suitable for the horse including in Sarasota and WEC. “My goal is to be competitive in those Grand Prixs,” she said. “I’ve also got a good new string of sales horses that are ready to move up to the higher levels and showcase their talent.” With so many horses to compete and a total of 26 horses to care for, Crooks doesn’t have time to worry about her athletes’ nutrition, so she feeds Crypto Aero. She began using the feed in 2020. “I originally started it with my talented Grand Prix mare that had constant colic and gas issues,” she explained. “I was struggling to manage her gas and my internal medicine specialist, Meg Miller, told me about it. After starting it, I noticed a huge difference in my mare. She was less gassy on a regular basis and way more comfortable. After seeing how much this helped her, it didn’t take me long to switch all my horses.” She primarily feeds Crypto Aero Wild Forage but chooses Crypto Aero Wholefood Horsefeed if a horse needs the added oats in the formulation. She also uses Crypto Aero Plus+ for the horses needing extra support and said it’s been a great addition to her feeding program.

Plus+ is a complete vitamin and mineral supplement developed to help horses overcome especially stressful situations. With wholefood ingredients including chia seeds, spirulina, papain, rose hips, organic kelp, marshmallow root, green cabbage, colostrum, reishi mushroom, licorice root, anise and fenugreek, Crypto Aero Plus+ supports hoof growth, cartilage, tendons, joints, lungs, capillary strength, immune system, fore and hind gut digestion, intestinal lining, coat, kidney and thyroid health. “I’ve seen a huge difference and love the way the horses feel,” she said. “They enjoy the grain a lot! We are thrilled and love telling people about it!”
