Lauren Crooks has gotten the rides on 3 new exciting horses.
Eleanor 3 is a very exciting purchase for Crooks Show Jumping and is bought in partnership with Axel Verlooy at EuroHorse. Eleanor is a 2012 Belgian Warmblood Mare sired by the great Connor and out of a Cassini I mare. We have a lot of belief that this talented mare with go all the way to the top. She’s got all the scope, amazing balance, and the perfect amount of blood. Her carefulness tied in with the fact she's very smart makes us excited for her future!
Fifty Fifty: Fifty was purchased by a group of investors for Lauren and is a 9 year old Norwegian Warmblood Mare that already has results through the 1.45m division. She possesses nice blood, scope, and a great brain. What we love so much about her is how easily she finds the back...
Lauren Crooks is expanding her reach to a more global horse scene and will be based part of the year out of Zandhoven, Belgium. In Europe, Lauren will be acquiring a group of sales horses, investing in future Grand Prix prospects, and competing throughout Europe. James Brennan and Ashly Adams will be running the team at home with the help of Jill Blunt so that our clients get the best training and management possible. This shift will allow CSJ and its clients to have opportunities that weren’t once available - whether it’s finding the next horse, being able to show in Europe, or making new connections that allow us to have future success. Take a look at our calendar to see what shows we will be attending this year as we have a great group of venues lined up! We are very excited for the opportun...
We were thrilled to start our season on the west coast with the April Season Opener at Thunderbird Show Park. We were very proud of our clients who jumped clean rounds and won top placings/championships at new levels. We love supporting Thunderbird because they focus on the one thing that matters the most - The Horse. Their excellent management allows us to have a great experience each and every time we visit their venue. We will be visiting Thunderbird 2 more times this year. Our next appearance is in May during their spring series which hosts a big national and the exciting CSIO5* event and our second visit is in August during the CSI3* and CSI4* events.
We would like to say a big thank you to our clients, sponsors, and owners for being a part of our journey this year in Wellington. We had a great season and already look forward to returning in 2019. With the increase in shows available to us, specifically Deeridge, we are able to compete our horses at the venue that suits them best and gives them the opportunity to improve.
Last fall we had 2 new 7 year old’s join our team, Belle du Courtil and Louisana de Moortelshoeve. They made their debut with Lauren Crooks this winter competing both at WEF and Deeridge. Both horses jumped beautiful clean rounds in the 7 year old divisions and the season finished up with Belle du Courtil placing 4th in the $25,000 Young Horse Championship. We also acquired the Grand Prix horse Cantino 9 for James...
Crooks Show Jumping and a few investors have bought 2 exciting young horses for the future.
Belle du Courtil is a mare born in 2001 and by the famous Kannan out of Luccianno. This incredibly talented mare shows all the potential for being a top future sport horse! She is quick on her feet, scopey, and has a huge heart. Her desire to win and impress is incredible. We are very excited to be a part of this amazing mare's career! Belle was purchased out of the Dutch Sport Horse Sale Auction.
The second talent is a mare by the name of Louisana van de Moortelshoeve. She was also born in 2001 and is by the sire Bamako de Muze which is Darco breeding. She is incredibly smart, agile, and fast. She’s also got scope to back that up and the future for the top sport looks very bright! There’s no doubt...
We are very fortunate to have Thunderbird Show Park as our "local" venue. Not only is the management exceptional, they have developed a facility that is focused on the horsemanship side of things - the footing, stabling, layout, and the way they act upon constructive input. It's so important that hunter/jumper stables support venues that put back into their facilities so that the future of these venues are secure. In the end, we all benefit from this investment.
I can speak for everyone at Crooks Show Jumping when I say that we look forward to supporting venues such as Thunderbird that provide the best experience for horse and rider.
Congratulations to our horse and rider combinations for a great week of showing:
- Paris McCaw and Conington: Winner of the Modified...
So proud of our riders this week at Northwest Autumn Finals for their tricolors and Zone 9 Championships! It's great to see these horse and rider combinations work so hard this year and it shows in the results! A big thank you to Denise Youell for all the fantastic coaching!
- Amy Berman and Morrison claimed the Zone 9 Year End Championship and horse show Reserve Champion in the Adult Hunter 50 & Over
- Anna Kotler and Paint the Town dominated her first year in rated ponies by taking both the Zone 9 Year End Championship and horse show Championship in the Medium Pony Hunters
- Katie Kotler and Off the Chart had an outstanding performance in the WSHJA Good Seat & Hands Finals taking 1st place and then later on 3rd place in a very competitive THIS Medal!
I would like to give Thunderbird Show Park a huge THANK YOU for a great 2 weeks of competition! Our clients, staff, and horses always enjoy coming up to this wonderful venue with great management. Here are some fun moments we captured at our home away from home :)
Thank you Jeffery Welles for such an amazing clinic July 22-24 at our farm! We love having you each year and are excited to have you back in 2017! Here are some great photos credit of Viola Mitchell, Kellie Sheehan, and others!
The annual Toys for Tots BBQ is taking place November 29th 2015 at Wembley Farms. Since 2011, Nick Dello Joio, Andrew Welles, Sean and Lauren Crooks have hosted their yearly Toys for Tots pig roast to not only invite equestrians in Wellington to help the toys for tots cause, but equestrians all over the world. They have donated thousands of toys which have come from the equestrian community. All you have to do is bring an unwrapped toy to come join the BBQ. Their will be great food, music and company! Last year 3,333 toys were donated. This year the goal is to donate 6,000 toys.
In light of it being Hampton Classic week we have a throwback to 2009. This was Sean's second year attending the Hampton Classic and had a wonderful young mare he had brought to the show Cincinatti La Silla. Here is an interview done with Scot Evan's.
