Zone 9-1 combine to Win Gold at Young Riders!
Going into Young Riders, it was unsure if zone 9 would be able to combine with another team to have a chance at competing for a team medal. This was answered the day before team competition when Zone 9 members, Sara Nordstrom and Jennifer Gates, Coach Sean Crooks, were combined with Zone 1 members, McKayla Langmeier, Victoria Arute, and Hannah Patten, with Coaches Amy Momrow and John Brennan.
Congratulations to Crooks Show Jumping pupil Sara Nordstrom for being the anchor on the team, being the only rider to jump double clear for our the Zone 9/1 team.
This is a historic medal for Zone 9. It is the first medal won in Show Jumping for a zone 9 rider at young riders. Never having been done before!
We also want to congradulate Sara on her 8th individual placing and Jennifer on her 4th individual placing.
